The family and child studies profession prepares men and women for careers serving children and families. The Child Development Specialization curriculum offers classroom instruction and field experiences that focus on developing the competencies required for work with children and youth in group settings. Career opportunities include child care centers, public and private nursery schools, preschool programs, after-school programs, and agencies that serve children and their families.
